Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1

Do I need a medical card to purchase cannabis at Obi-Wan Cannabis?

Accepted Answer

No medical card is required. New Mexico legalized recreational cannabis for adults 21 and older. Simply bring a valid, government-issued photo ID proving you are 21+. We welcome both recreational customers and registered medical patients.

Question 2

What ID do I need to enter the dispensary?

Accepted Answer

Any valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID works — driver's license, state ID card, U.S. passport, or military ID. The ID must clearly show your date of birth confirming you are 21 or older. We cannot accept expired IDs.

Question 3

What are your hours of operation?

Accepted Answer

We are open every day of the year from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM — including weekends and holidays. Whether you are an early riser or a night owl, we have got you covered.

Question 4

Where are you located?

Accepted Answer

We are at 2167 McNutt Road, Suite A, Sunland Park, NM 88063 — just minutes across the state line from El Paso, TX. Search "Obi-Wan Cannabis" on Google Maps for turn-by-turn directions.

Question 5

Can I consume cannabis on the premises?

Accepted Answer

No. New Mexico law prohibits on-site consumption at dispensaries. All cannabis must be consumed in a private residence or at a licensed cannabis consumption lounge. Please do not consume in our parking lot or on our property.

Question 6

Do you have bilingual staff?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Our team is bilingual — we speak both English and Spanish. Hablamos español. Visit our En Español page for more information in Spanish.

Question 7

What products do you carry?

Accepted Answer

We carry 200+ products across 9 categories: flower, pre-rolls, cartridges & disposables, edibles, beverages, concentrates, CBD, topicals, and accessories. Our shelves are stocked with top New Mexico brands including Atlas, CouchLock, Superherb, Elevated, Harmony, Hippie Trout, Fire Carts, Dime, and more.

Question 8

Do you grow your own cannabis?

Accepted Answer

Yes — OB1 is a vertically integrated dispensary. We cultivate, manufacture, and sell our own cannabis products. This means tighter quality control, fresher inventory, and better prices for our customers. We also carry products from other top New Mexico cultivators.

Question 9

What brands do you carry?

Accepted Answer

We carry a rotating selection of the best New Mexico cannabis brands. Current brands include Atlas, CouchLock, Superherb, Elevated, Harmony, Hippie Trout, Fire Carts, Dime, Puffco, and our own house-grown products. Ask a budtender for today's featured brands.

Question 10

How much cannabis can I purchase at one time?

Accepted Answer

Under New Mexico law, adults 21+ may purchase up to 2 ounces (56 grams) of cannabis flower per transaction, or the equivalent in other forms (e.g., concentrates, edibles). Our staff can help you understand equivalencies if needed.

Question 11

Are your products lab-tested?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All cannabis products sold at OB1 are tested by state-licensed third-party laboratories as required by New Mexico law. Lab results verify potency (THC/CBD percentages), terpene profiles, and confirm the absence of pesticides, heavy metals, and other contaminants.

Question 12

Is the cannabis at OB1 locally sourced?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. New Mexico law requires all cannabis sold in the state to be grown and produced within New Mexico. Every product on our shelves — from flower to edibles — is locally sourced from New Mexico cultivators and manufacturers, including our own grow facility.

Question 13

What is the difference between cannabis flower, concentrates, edibles, and vapes?

Accepted Answer

Flower is the raw, dried cannabis bud — smoked or vaped. Concentrates (wax, live resin, rosin) are highly potent extracts with 60–80%+ THC. Edibles are food or drink products infused with cannabis — effects take 30–90 minutes and last longer. Vapes are pre-filled cartridges or disposables for inhaling cannabis oil. Our budtenders can walk you through the differences and help you choose based on your experience level and desired effects.

Question 14

What is a vertically integrated dispensary and why does it matter?

Accepted Answer

A vertically integrated dispensary cultivates, processes, and sells its own cannabis under one roof. For you, this means fresher products, more consistent quality, better pricing, and staff who know exactly what is in every product because they helped make it. OB1 is one of the few vertically integrated dispensaries in the Sunland Park / El Paso area.

Question 15

Can I order online or browse the menu before I visit?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Browse our full live menu at obiwancannabis.online/native-menu — updated daily. You can place an order online for express pickup through our SpeedWeed lane, or just browse ahead and walk in knowing exactly what you want.

Question 16

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept cash, debit cards, and cashless ATM payments. We have an ATM on-site for your convenience. Due to federal banking restrictions on cannabis businesses, traditional credit card processing is limited — cashless debit is the most reliable non-cash option.

Question 17

Do you accept cashless payments?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We accept cashless debit (PIN-based debit card transactions) and have a cashless ATM on-site. This is the most common payment method for cannabis purchases in New Mexico. We recommend bringing your debit card or cash for the smoothest experience.

Question 18

Do you offer discounts or daily deals?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We run daily deals, rotating promotions, and loyalty rewards. We also offer discounts for veterans, seniors, and first-time customers. Check our Discounts & Deals page or ask a budtender about today's specials when you arrive.

Question 19

Do you have a daily deal schedule?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we run themed daily deals throughout the week. Deals rotate and change regularly, so check our Discounts & Deals page or follow us on Instagram @ob1_dispensary for the latest. You can also call us at (505) 407-9333 to ask about today's specials.

Question 20

Do you have a loyalty or rewards program?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We reward our regulars. Ask our staff about our loyalty program when you visit and start earning points toward future purchases. The more you shop, the more you save.

Question 21

How much cannabis can I buy in a single visit in New Mexico?

Accepted Answer

Adults 21 and older may purchase up to 2 ounces (56 grams) of cannabis flower per transaction at a licensed New Mexico dispensary. This is the per-visit purchase limit — not a daily or weekly cap — but dispensaries may apply their own transaction policies.

Question 22

How much cannabis can I legally possess in New Mexico?

Accepted Answer

New Mexico adults 21+ may possess up to 2 ounces (56 grams) of cannabis flower in public. At home, you may possess up to 8 ounces (224 grams) of cannabis. Possession limits apply to all forms of cannabis — flower, concentrates, edibles, and vapes combined.

Question 23

What are the purchase limits for concentrates and extracts?

Accepted Answer

The 2-ounce flower equivalent applies to concentrates as well. Under New Mexico Cannabis Regulation Act rules, 1 gram of concentrate is generally equivalent to 1 gram of flower for purchase-limit purposes. Our budtenders can help you calculate your total if you are mixing product types.

Question 24

What are the purchase limits for edibles?

Accepted Answer

Edibles are measured by total THC content. New Mexico allows the purchase of edibles containing up to 800 mg of THC per transaction (equivalent to the 2-ounce flower limit). Individual edible packages are limited to 100 mg THC per package, with single servings capped at 10 mg THC.

Question 25

Can I buy cannabis for someone else or pool purchases?

Accepted Answer

No. Each adult must purchase for themselves only. Purchasing cannabis on behalf of another person (a "straw purchase") is illegal under New Mexico law, even if that person is also 21+. Each customer must present their own valid ID and make their own transaction.

Question 26

Can I take cannabis I bought in New Mexico back to Texas?

Accepted Answer

No — absolutely not. Transporting cannabis across state lines is a federal crime regardless of the laws in either state. Cannabis purchased at OB1 must remain within New Mexico. Do not transport it into Texas, Mexico, or any other state. This applies even if you are just passing through.

Question 27

Is there a daily purchase limit in New Mexico?

Accepted Answer

New Mexico law sets a per-transaction limit of 2 ounces, not a daily limit. However, dispensaries are required to track sales and may decline a transaction if it appears a customer is attempting to circumvent purchase limits through multiple same-day visits. Our staff follow all state compliance requirements.

Question 28

Are purchase limits different for medical cannabis patients?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Registered New Mexico medical cannabis patients may purchase larger quantities than recreational customers. Medical patients can purchase up to 8 ounces (224 grams) per 90-day period from a single producer, with a maximum of 230 units. If you are a medical patient, bring your registry ID card for the appropriate limits to apply.
